  • Y4 Roman Amphitheatre Visit

    Sat 20 Jan 2024

Y4 pupils recently went to the Guildhall Art Gallery, where they had the opportunity to meet Andrew (archaeologist) our workshop guide who took us down to the Roman Amphitheatre. Before going on the trip, our pupils used their tube mapping skills to work out which station we needed to get off at, and although it was a long tube journey, “It was definitely worth it!” The children really liked learning lots of interesting facts about Romans, and they also enjoyed looking at real Roman artefacts which Andrew shared with them. As we were inside the Guildhall Art Gallery, the children were also exposed to a wonderful variety of paintings.

Y4 will continue to learn about Romans this term, and they’ll also have another exciting ‘virtual’ workshop, where they’ll have the opportunity to have a look at some more Roman artefacts.

  • 'Going to University' Assembly

    Fri 19 Jan 2024

Whitehall Junior School is very fortunate to be working in partnership with, and taking part in, Brunel University's Young Scholars Programme this academic year.  This morning, Dr Blank attended our school to present a whole school assembly about 'Going to University'.  This presentation explored what university is, what it is like to attend and and why it is never too early to consider going to university.  It was a very inspiring assembly for our pupils and clearly outlined for them what university entails.

  • Eureka Explorers: Issue 2 Competition

    Fri 19 Jan 2024

Whitehall Junior School is very fortunate to be working in partnership with, and taking part in, Brunel University's Young Scholars Programme this academic year.  Before the Christmas break, we held a voluntary competition where the children could submit a piece of work that was inspired by something that they read from issue 2 of their Eureka Explorers magazine.  We were very impressed with the entries received in terms of the creativity, content and presentation.  All those who participated received a certificate for their achievement.
