  • Year 3 Visit to Uxbridge Town Centre

Thu 21 Nov 2019 Mrs Perez

On Tuesday November 12th, Year 3 had a very successful and enjoyable afternoon out to Uxbridge town centre.  This coincided with the children’s geographical and historical topic learning, ‘Our World’.  On the day of the trip 90 eager children made their way to Uxbridge High Street for the first adventure; Uxbridge Underground Station. The children then had the opportunity to further expand their knowledge of local history, led by very attentive and welcoming TFL staff members, we explored the control room and crossed the barrier to have a closer look at the different trains and lines. Also, we were all mesmerised by the stunning stained glass windows inside the station.

In addition, we had the chance to visit the bus station beside the Tube station and learn about the different buses, routes and how to read the different timetables. The cherry on the top of our trip was a visit to our local library. We were very lucky to have the pleasure of listening to a story, asking questions about how to get our library card and learning how to borrow books, comics and DVDs from the library.

By the end of the afternoon a very excited group of children were more than ready to make their way back to school.  The children chatted excitedly about the different experiences they had had on the day.  Overall, it was a hugely successful trip, where once again, the children behaved beautifully throughout the day and made their teachers very proud.

A very big thank you to the teachers and staff that helped make this trip so rewarding and educational, whilst helping to bring the children’s learning to life.

  • Uxbridge High School's Anti-Bullying Ambassadors share an important message

    Tue 12 Nov 2019

Our thanks go to the six Anti-Bullying Ambassadors from Uxbridge High School who joined us this afternoon to present to pupils in Years 5 and 6. Speaking to us in anti-bullying week's 'odd sock' day, the students explained the different forms of bullying and how to reach out for help. They spoke with confidence and clarity and shared personal experiences, explaining how their roles at Uxbridge High School support and guide students to manage relationships positively. They were proactive in reaching out to us and wanting to spread their wise words across Key Stage 2.

  • Packham Cup Memorial Tournament

Mon 11 Nov 2019 Mr Jones

On Saturday 9th November 2019, we took a football team of Year 6 boys to take part in the Packham Cup Memorial Tournament which was held at Oakwood Secondary School. This is a District tournament that has been running since 1963! The team played very well throughout the group matches, fortunately making it through to the knock-out stages without losing a game.   Their quarter final match was against St Helens and our team won the match 2-0.  Their semi-final match was against Hillingdon who we beat 2-0 and we went on to beat St Bernadette’s in the final 5-0. Due to our team’s phenomenal performance, we won the trophy which we have not won since 2005. As well as coming away with the trophy and gold medals, we have received an invitation to the Borough Football Competition which will consist of only the best teams from the Borough! All 8 boys who played on Saturday did very well and we are very proud of all of their performances and great sportsmanship in their matches!
