  • The Whitehall Voice Debuts...

    Mon 18 Jul 2016

After much anticipation, The Whitehall Voice shifted 74 copies of their 'Nightingale issue'. It went down incredibly well and the ambition is to sell even more copies, next time round. Mrs Nightingale was incredibly proud to be our first cover story!

Mr Nathan wishes to thank all the children who helped with the pilot edition, and looks forward to receiving job applications and CVs when deciding his permanent staff for the academic year, 2016-17. Onwards and upwards!

The first edition of TWV is now available as a pdf download on its webpage: http://www.whitehalljunior.org/the-whitehall-voice/

  • Maths Ambassadors' Presentation Morning

    Tue 12 Jul 2016

An enormous 'thank you' to all of this year's Maths Ambassadors, particularly those currently in Year 6 who have given up their time to support a younger pupil for two years now.  Thanks also to all the parents who attended this morning's special presentation assembly in the Studio.  It was lovely to hear the shared compliments between the partnerships and for Year 6 pupils to be presented with a maths book as a keepsake and 'thank you' from their Year 4 partner.  It has been a successful year for all of our partnerships - thanks and congratulations to you all!

  • Stratford-upon-Avon: A Midsummer Night's Dream

    Fri 08 Jul 2016

On Tuesday 5th July, some Year 6 children travelled to Stratford-Upon-Avon to watch 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' being performed on stage at the glorious Swan Theatre.  The show was performed by children from several schools within six cluster groups from around the country: Leicester, Uxbridge, Staffordshire, Blackpool, Bradford and Canterbury.  Myolan and Ellie were chosen to represent Whitehall within the Uxbridge cluster to perform one of the scenes of the play.  This show was held to celebrate all that has been achieved over the last two years in working with the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC).  It was a wonderful play which was marvellously performed by all involved and the year six children who were apart of the audience thoroughly enjoyed the show.  It was a fantastic way to end the two years programme we have been doing with the RSC and Whitehall is looking forward to the next adventures we will have when we continue working with the company in the future.

  • Year 5 Enabling Enterprise

    Fri 08 Jul 2016

Throughout last week, all of the Year 5 children became entrepreneurs when they took on the Enabling Enterprise project 'Active Minds'.  This project introduced the concept of enterprise through a fun, creative challenge; to plan and launch a new Fitness Session in school that will inspire activeness and encourage students to have ‘Active Minds’. The children put their creativity and organisation to the test as they designed, and carried out, their own school Fitness Session.  The children thoroughly enjoyed this task and did a wonderful job at leading their sessions during break time.

  • Lord's Cricket

    Fri 08 Jul 2016

On Tuesday 28th June, sixteen children had the opportunity to visit Lord's Cricket Ground to watch a cricket match and take part in various team building activities.  This was a wonderful event which enabled them to see a live cricket match and visit a well known venue - all of the children had a fantastic time.
