Welcome Dragonflies, Bees and Ladybirds
Welcome back to the Autumn term. We hope you have had a wonderful rest and you are full of energy for your second half term at Whitehall Junior School!
We would like to hope that you all had a restful week off – filled with reading, maths games, sports and more! However we also hope that you will have returned full of energy.
The Autumn term will continue to be a busy one and you will be expected to work harder than ever. There will be lots of fun along the way, with new after-school clubs to try out, school trips to attend, and new friends to make, so make sure that you take advantage of every opportunity. We have many things to look forward to in our upcoming lessons: in English we will continue to study the text 'Krindlekrax’ and enjoy a new read: 'Charlotte's Web'. In addition to this, you will read a range of poetry; in mathematics we will continue to build of our knowledge gained from the Infant School and apply these skills to every day life; in science we will study ‘Animals, including Humans’ and ‘Plants’ and we will begin our learning about the local area in the 'Our World’ topic lessons.
It would be really helpful if you continue to practise your maths and reading in addition to completing your weekly homework - please see the ‘useful links’ tab on the ‘Year Group Pages’ home page for easy access to the regular websites and resources we use.
Additionally, don’t forget to read and discuss the vocabulary and knowledge mats with your family to deepen your understanding of what you are learning this term!
This term, remember to bring your PE kits on a Wednesday and Thursday. Please make sure that jewellery is not worn on these days, including earrings.
Please ensure that you continue to take advantage of the online programmes such as, Bug Club, Mathletics and Times Table Rock Stars.
Homework for this year will be as follows:
