Our School Day

Start of the School Day

The main gates are opened at 8.30am. Children are expected to be in school by 8.45am when the class registers will be taken. All children arriving late must be signed into the main school office by an adult.

Our sessions:

Registration and early work: 8.45-9.00am
Morning: 9.00am - 12.00pm (Year 2) 9.00am – 12.15pm (Years 3-6)
Afternoon: 1.00pm - 3.00pm (Year 2) 1.15pm – 3.15pm (Years 3-6)

Morning playtime
10.00-10.15am (Year 2) 10.30am – 10.45am (Years 3-6)

Lunch
12.00pm - 1.00pm (Year 2, earlier staggered lunches for Reception and Year 1) 12.15pm – 1.15pm (Years 3-6)

End of the School Day

At the end of the school day, our school gates on Cowley Road open at 3.00pm (Whitehall Road gates open at 3.07pm). Children are dismissed into the care of their parents by a member of staff on the lower playground.  All parents are expected to complete a form, annually, which gives details of which adults have permission to collect their children. Children in Years 5 and 6 are allowed to walk home unaccompanied, providing written permission has been obtained by the Headteacher.  If parents need to notify school of any changes to collection arrangements in an emergency, they should telephone the school office, preferably before 2.30pm. 

Our school is open to pupils for 32.5 hours per week (compulsory hours) (8.45am - 3.15pm daily).

Our school opens to pupils from 7.30am (Breakfast Club) and closes to pupils at 4.15pm (this is the finish time for clubs (as of September 2025) - a total of 43.75 hours per week.

Unauthorised cars are not allowed onto school grounds at any time.  Parents may park in the marked parking bays in neighbouring streets.

We have been advised by the council that parking in Cotswold Close is for residents only.
