Happiness at the heart of learning

Welcome Swallows

Hello Swallows,

I hope that you had a wonderful holiday and a chance to rest and spend lots of time with family and friends.

It was a very busy end to the spring term: we had a trip to the synagogue plus many experiences and dress up days as well as International Evening.  All of your performances for International Evening were magnificent and enjoyed by all. The standard of singing and dancing exceeded our high expectations and I am looking forward to seeing what you will produce for our class assembly this term.

We still have many things to look forward to in our upcoming lessons this half term: in English we will study and enjoy the texts 'Snow White in New York' by Fiona French and 'Dragon Slayer' by Gill Howell; in Mathematics we will consolidate our knowledge and understanding and apply these to investigations; in science we will complete our work on ‘Earth and Space’ and then start our final unit of work  ‘Habitats and Life Processes’  and we will start our new topic unit ‘Invaders and Settlers’ which involves the Anglo Saxons and Vikings.

As well as this, you will continue to have swimming lessons from Monday 30th April, 1.30-3.30 this half term. It is essential that you bring in your kit each week. This includes a swimming costume, for girls and swimming trunks/shorts for boys, a towel and a bag to keep your kit in. A swimming hat is required for those with long hair. Please also make sure that jewellery is not worn on this day, including watches and earrings, as you are not allowed to wear such items during swimming lessons.

Something else to look forward to is our upcoming trip to Wembley Stadium on Tuesday 7th May.

It would be really helpful if you continue to practice your maths and reading in addition to completing your weekly Mathletics homework - below are some really useful links.

I am very much looking forward to our half term together!
