Happy 2018 one and all!
The New Year is upon us and I hope you all had a wonderful break but are ready and raring to meet the challenges that the year has to offer. Hopefully your break was just as exciting as mine but more importantly; are you as eager as me to get back into the classroom? We have so much planned!
Sir Ironsoul will come face to face with Dr Kalmenius and his mysterious methods during Literacy as we pursue through ‘Clockwork’ - my favourite text of the year.
We will also begin our Mayan topic; discovering their input into mathematics, astronomy and chocolate through fun, creative and interesting activities. In numeracy, we will continue improving our ability within our groups focusing our key needs and weaknesses. Remember to log on to Mathletics at home or go to the club at lunch time to develop your skills in an interactive way that can put you head to head with your friends (if you wish).
In addition to everything so far, our second performance of a life time awaits you… your last assembly at Whitehall Junior School. If our first assembly is anything to go by, I can’t wait to see the potential of our performance. All contributions are welcome; ideas, props and even routines (I know we have a few choreographers out there) so start thinking!
Finally, as we learn and plan for our futures remember that we cannot replace time. Let’s enjoy each lesson to its full potential and make the most of the present. We worked so hard the first term; I think we can do the same in the next two terms in the lead up to SATs.
KEEP CALM AND SWIM ON!
