This year seems to be flying by; we are already half way through your time in Year 5! I have been very pleased with how well you have all done so far this year and I am looking forward to seeing all of the progress you will make during the remainder of this term. There have been many highlights from the year so far and some of these can be seen in the slideshows on this page. If you all continue showing great motivation and commitment towards your work we are going to have a very successful spring second half term!
We have many things to look forward to in our upcoming lessons: in English we will study some of the work of Jeremy Strong and read and enjoy the text 'Snow White In New York'; in Mathematics we will develop our skills further and apply these to investigations; we will start a new topic 'Earth and Beyond' in science and we will continue learning all about 'North America' in our topic lessons. As well as this, we have International Evening to prepare for (Wednesday 28th March) - make sure you keep this date clear in your diaries as you will all need to be available to perform!
It would be really helpful if you continued to practice your maths and reading in addition to the weekly homework which you're set - below are some really useful links.
I am very much looking forward to this half term with you all!
