Welcome back after your half term break! I hope you have had a wonderful rest and you are full of energy for your second half term in Year 5!
What an action packed half term we have planned. We have many things to look forward to in our upcoming lessons: in English we will study and enjoy the texts ‘Bling’ and ‘Macbeth’ by William Shakespeare; in Mathematics we will consolidate our knowledge and understanding and apply these to investigations and in science and topic we will continue our study of ‘Materials and their Properties’ and 'Ancient Egyptians’.
As well as this you will continue to have swimming lessons this half term. Your first swimming lesson is on Monday 5th November, 1.30-3.30. It is essential that you bring in your kit each week. This includes a swimming costume, for girls and swimming trunks/shorts for boys, a towel and a bag to keep your kit in. A swimming hat is required for those with long hair. Please also make sure that jewellery is not worn on this day, including watches and earrings, as you are not allowed to wear such items during swimming lessons.
Something else to look forward to is our upcoming performance of Macbeth in school on Thursday 6th December and also the school Christmas fair which is on Friday 30th November.
It would be really helpful if you continue to practice your maths and reading in addition to completing your weekly Mathletics homework - below are some really useful links.
I am very much looking forward to our half term together!
