Windsor Castle Visit
A wonderful day was had by all as Years 3 and 6 visited Windsor Castle (followed a day later by Years 4 and 5). Having booked the visit to acknowledge Her Late Majesty's Platinum Jubilee Year, our visit coincided with the re-opening of the castle following the sad passing of HM Queen Elizabeth II. Pupils were able to explore St George's Chapel, see the Changing of the Guard and saw the burial place of Queen Elizabeth II. After exploring the castle's beautiful grounds, pupils were also able to visit the State Rooms and to soak up the atmosphere and admire the stunning art collection. It was impressive to see how much knowledge our pupils could recall from their learning earlier in the year and to make links to what they had observed in the media during the national period of mourning.
